What is Be Connected?

Be Connected is an Australia wide initiative empowering all Australians to thrive in a digital world. The initiative provides online learning resources and access to a network of community partners - the Be Connected Network - who offer in-person support to assist develop digital skills and confidence. Digital IQ is a Be Connected Network partner, providing local area friendly help, advice and assisting develop a regional Digital Mentor Network.

Why the initiative?

Over 4 million Australians are limited users of the internet & digital technology. Research indicates :

• 26% of over 65s never use the internet
• 63% of non users have no interest in the internet
• 25% of people with disabilities never use internet 35% have no access to the internet.
• The Australian Digital Inclusion Index (ADII) is lower in rural areas compared to capital cities. 

Digital inclusion is key to helping communities transform. The Be Connected initiative supports people become digitally able & active, supporting healthier, happier and better connected communities. To find out more, you are invited to free meet ups to be provided within Tamworth
